In the coming weeks, when RiverSmart is officially launched, you will start to see our blue buckets out and about associated with  promotional and awareness raising activities.

Why blue buckets ?

We did a quick survey and decided that in most homes buckets are our primary water management 'tool'.  Try it yourself - walk around at home and list all the ways you use a common old bucket.  It may not be blue, but it's still part of how we move water around, store it, dispose of it etc.

So, RiverSmart's Blue Bucket campaign is designed to get us all to think about saving water so we take pressure off our overstretched rivers.

If we each save a bucket a day, it will make a huge difference to the health of our rivers, their precious wildlife, how we all get to enjoy our waterways, and to the long-term sustainability of Australia's rural enterprises.

Being more efficient with water is something we can all do, whether it's in our homes, schools, businesses or farms.  So get behind the blue bucket campaign.
